Life is just like a netball tournament.

Wise words from Ms Ng, "No time to dwell over a mistake. It only give a chance for opponent to score." Mr Ng's word, "No one is there to cheer on a leader, there is only yourself."
On court when we made a mistakes, we have no time to blame ourselves neither do have time to be annoyed by it. It will just give our opponent the advantage to play an easier game, as one of us is down. Whenever we made a mistake, if we get too upset about it, it will only affect us in whatever we are doing. Instead, if we move on and learnt from mistakes, only then will we stay strong in the competitive society. Just a note for leaders, when you made a mistake, it is up to you to encourage yourself to buck up and move on.

When you are tired, and the game has not ended, every passes counts. The fittest survives. When we are doing something, we maybe totally tired and left with the very last bit of energy to push on but if we just remain steady and do whatever is within our means, we will still keep our game going on. Also, in crucial time, every step counts, every action matters. Stirring up feeling would be the worst thing that we should ever do during the crucial moments.

If you are worried and scared to make a pass when defender is by the side of your team-mate, you will only throw away the passes. But, if you overcome the fear and trust your friend, you will succeed eventually even though you may make a few mispasses at times. We are all humans. We make mistakes. We need to be brave and bold enough to overcome our fear and trust one another.

"You may throw a good pass but if you teammate can't catch it, it is still not a good pass." From Ms Choo. Teamwork is such an important in work. Sometimes, it is not how you work. It is about how you work things out to achieve the best outcome. I remembered one of my friends once said,"A good method is a method that can solve the problem." Very true. Situation is more important than the method.

As most effort as the defender may have put in, the shooter may not put in the shot. We have 2 options: curse and swear at the shooter and affect your performance and eventually affecting the game (and lose the game) or "It is ok. We will bring the ball down together and try again for another goal." When one makes a mistake and may affect the situation, we have the above 2 mentioned options.

"It is impossible to go for every passes." Ms Ng once said this during one of our drills. It is impossible to go for everything in life. Everything is a great opportunity in life but we have limitation and some of the opportunities are just not meant for us. And, if we were to "fly" over, it will only give opponent an easier time to score. We need to know what we can go for and what we should not. However, we can always try our best to prevent an easy time for opponent by doing our basic duties.

One senior, Sarah, once said, as long as we keep all of our centre pass and overturn one, we will win the game. We need to constantly remind ourselves our basic responsibilities before advancing to higher level. Don't be too ambitious at times. (For easier opponent, greater aim should be set).

Ms Ng once said, "Take the first 5 minute to understand the game. Don't pressure yourself and push yourself too hard." You will only make yourself unable to sustain till 4th quarter. Take sometime to understand one another. In a project you push yourself too hard to get work done. You will at the end of the day, unable to submit the project. You will cause yourself to be exhausted and have multiple conflicts with your team-mates.

"The ball is round, anything can happen" I still remember this. Ms Choo said this when we were facing a tough opponent in A Div this year. We can't predict our lives. But even if we have the greatest challenge in the world, as long as try our best, we will turn the situation around.

Then, Ms Ng added, "As long as you keep our possession, there is nothing that opponent can do unless we sabotage one another." Two things here. We choose the life path we want. If we insist the way of life we want, there is nothing that others can do. It will be tough, for sure. But it is up to us to do so. Secondly, nothing can tear us apart unless we have internal conflicts to kill one another.

Remain claim on court is all that you need to maintain your possession, especially during tough games. If we start to get nervous, the likelihood of losing a pass increase. During tough situation, remain claim allow us to think carefully to overcome the problem.

Every mistakes counts. Simple things like footwork, we know it very well. We have been practicing it ever since the first day on court. Yet we still commit it on court and give a free ball to opponent. Something, in life, we know it well that it will harm ourselves and others but yet we still commit it (accidentally). But then, again, it is up to us to work to make the situation favourable to us.

There are many ways and strategies to play the games. Lobs maybe be the best way to get the ball into the goal circle for one game but not for another even if we keep the same combination of players. Also, same method can be use for different combinations. Different challenges need different solutions. If one method does not work, try another.

"Your friend is there trying to save the loose ball but yet you are standing there doing nothing. And all these are well reflected in the daily interaction you have with one another." By Ms Choo. In a team, never leave your friend alone to tackle a challenge. Help one another. That could have been the critical save. That could have been another goal.

Every timing matters. Right timing determine whether the pass was good. However, if we miss the timing, go for the second run. Do the right thing at the right time. But again, if you have gone for the wrong timing, try again. Challenge yourself again after you have failed for the first time. You may obtain better result after the first failure.

Supporters are the most important people in the crucial game (with the right kind of cheering, please. hehe!). In a tough war, the screaming, the cheering never fails keep us claim and going, which may eventually lead us to a win. And of course, encouragement from own team-mates are equally important. Be it moral support or physical support, it never fails to keep one going and overcome an obstacle.

Mindset determine whether you win a game. Mindset determine whether you enjoy what you are doing.

Make good use of the opportunity. When the opponent made a mistake accidentally, make good use of this chance and make a goal happens. Make every possible chance a golden opportunity.

A bad pass can become a good pass if you help one another. But a good pass may turn into a bad one, if we choose individualistic over teamwork. Slow down/hasten the run to save the ball, will keep the game going. Make changes to change the problem into a solution.

Lastly, all that it matters is that we try our best on court, winning a game is bonus. Play the game with no regret because every game can only be played once. In life, as long we try our best, no matter what's the result, we will have no regret because we can only live once.
Gina (current capt) once said, go in and try your best, we have nothing to lose.

Bannister's House Council

The one only reason why I always enjoy netball and love it.

功课啊功课,我还未能找到平衡点。我知道我有好多好多供各没有准时交上去了。我真的希望我能早日找到我那平衡点。

I have not update my blog for 13 days.

There are a lot of things that happened within these 2 weeks. Let me start with today. (will be going backwards)

I reached school early today. And finished up my Chinese worksheet. This is the first Chinese worksheet that I finish ever since after June Holiday. I feel a sense of satisfaction. Then, I had a series of lesson. PC was converted to PW today. It was pretty fun. All of us are supposed to talk for one minute without any pause in between on any topic. When school ends, I went for lunch and had a PW meeting. The Yong Tau Foo was delicious!

At 3.30pm, had another meeting at LN with Dominic and Wai Tsz. The meeting ended at 5pm. It was not exactly an ending but rather the big boss was way too busy. I went for netball training after which. I love the team. We had some drills and followed by weight training. The weight training was enjoyable. I had a good laugh, especially about Annette.

The training ended at 6.45pm. I went to the netball court at the track to practice shooting with Taahira. I think I was very rude. The councillors were using some parts of the court and without asking them, we sort of took over the court. I think it could have been better if we had just ask the councillors politely if we could use the court.

The practice ended at 8pm and I started to do my homework (Biology tutorial). Then, home sweet home.

Yesterday was an enjoyable day and I am please with myself yesterday. I finished the Chemistry homework, the proposal, did a Birthday card, did half of the Chinese worksheet and had a PW meeting. All these were done within 6 hours.

I will skip Saturday. Let's talk about Friday first.

In the morning, Burp told me that we (08S02) will be having a new classmate. Her name is Shin Ji Won. Chatting with her for less than 5 minutes, memories of days in Japan flooded my mind. I think that it is nice to have her around after interacting with her for 2 days.

The usual thing happened on Friday. Lessons all the way till 3pm. We reported for Leaders' Camp at 5pm. We had some games and some discussions about JJC. I thought the games were appealing and I learnt quite a bit from the games. Then, light out.

On Saturday morning, we woke up and had a light PT. For once, there wasn't fire drill in the middle of the night. After breakfast, we had some team building games. I thought the blindfolding game was out of ordinary. This is the first time that I was playing this game. The camp ended with "being a leader".

On Thursday (02 10 2008), I went for physiotherapy. It was a little exhausting. I did leg press, single leg squats and some stretching. I thought the stretching was a little bit uncomfortable but at the same time, I know I had better do it right.

Need to write a summary for the rest of the days that I have not touch on as need to ruch a project at the moment.

Tues - Thank you Ms Foo, Ms Chia, Ms Yew and all the teachers from Mathematics Department for the party!

Mon - I had a great time at Fuhua Primary School. I just so love this school. I look the kids. They made my day. I was having some problem during school hours but having fun with them really brighten me up.

Sun - Celebrated Michael birthday at IMM Meet up at 6pm at Mac. Had dinner and walked around. Xin Ying really can eat a lot!

Fri to Sat -JJ Netball Farewell Party at Shenn's House. Her house is HUGE.

Fri - Went to Alexandra Hospital (AH) sports clinic.
Not too bad but neither is it a good news. Cartilage problem. At least not ligament. =D I need to visit physiotherapy.

Thu - End of Promo, went to subway with Jaclyn to have lunch (although only Jaclyn having her lunch.) went to Polyclinic to get referral letter and medicine for my foot. Not too bad. I didn't wait as long as I did the other time.
